GHG Emission Reduction at the CSC ’’Kramatorskiy Pivzavod” Sector Food Industry: Brewing and Yeast Production Proponent/Project Owner Closed Stock Company “Kramatorski Pivzavod” Background The Kramatorski Pivzavod (brewery) was formed in 1959 as a city food plant specializing in the manufacture of soft drinks, butter, and wine. In the same year a beer brewery was put into operation with the capacity to produce 6,500,000 liters per year. A yeast shop with the capacity to produce 21 tons of baker’s yeast per day was launched in 1964. In 1993 Kramatorski Pivzavod was privatized and operates as a closed stock company. There have been substantial investments in equipment since the brewery plant was privatized. The Company wishes to reduce its specific energy costs in order to become more competitive in its market, where it already enjoys good customer loyalty. Technical Summary The project envisages the following:
Project Goal and GHGs Targeted 406274 t/CO2 eq. over the project lifetime, $ 3,69 per ton of CO2 eq. Estimated Cost $ 1,000,000 Status and Financing The project owner is seeking medium to long-term financing for the project, as well as equity participation. A business plan is under preparation.
