Climate Change Division

The Climate Change Division is a structure of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine (MENR), reporting to the Hydrometeorology Service. Among the tasks of the Division is to organize and coordinate activities, within its limits, to ensure Ukraine's fulfillment of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These includes:

  • supporting activities of the Interministerial Commission on Climate Change and its subgroups, developing its workplans, meeting and other materials;
  • organizing and coordinating, within its limits, the fulfillment of bilateral and multilateral agreements, climate change programs, in particular of the Canada-Ukraine Environmental Cooperation Program for 1999-2002 under the Memoranda between the governments of Canada and Ukraine and between the Institute of Public Administration of Canada and the MENR, as well as of the USAID climate change project under the Memorandum of Intent between the governments of U.S. and Ukraine on climate change cooperation.
