SUBJECT: Multilateral Climate Change Working Group meeting

Dear Messrs. Lemley and Potapenko,

I am writing to you as a Secretariat of the Multilateral Climate Change Working Group. On behalf of the NGO Working Group on Climate Change we would like to ask for participation in the Eighth meeting of the Multilateral Climate Change Working Group to be held on 17 May 2001.

We believe that public groups have to become important players in climate change related activities. We are doing this work for a while now and want our results to be acknowledged by other players. For sure, the donors meeting you organizing is a good place for us to share our results and ideas. We hope this would help to coordinate climate change related work among different stakeholders.

We would need up to 10 minutes for presentation and another 10 for questions and answers, if any will rise. In our speech we will brief participants on activities performed by the NGO Working Group and our plans. We have bilateral contacts with a number of donors and have successful cooperation with a few of them. This experience could be a good point to share with other donors. Please, reserve up to three seats for the NGO representatives.
